ABOUT KEITH MYERS

I work at the intersection of heritage, place and immersive technology, helping communities and institutions reconnect people with the stories beneath their feet.As Founder of AVimmerse, a creative technology studio, I lead projects that blend storytelling, design and emerging technologies to create meaningful, place-based experiences across immersive media, digital heritage and interactive learning.My work spans immersive training, Unity and Unreal Engine development, drone and 3D capture, and consulting on complex XR projects. I specialise in translating complex ideas, sites and histories into accessible, emotionally resonant experiences that help people learn, connect and see the world around them differently.I’m also the founder of the Warrington Castle Collective, a community-led heritage project bringing local history to life through storytelling, archaeology, digital reconstruction and public engagement. This work has been shared at festivals, on radio, through community events, and through my TEDx talk, where I explored how uncovering local stories can strengthen pride, belonging and identity.Alongside this, I’m developing a heritage storytelling platform through the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Regional Talent Engines programme. The platform enables communities, schools and organisations to explore the histories of places through immersive narratives, supporting product development, leadership, commercialisation and national scale.As an educator and mentor, I’ve designed and led immersive bootcamps, trained the next generation of XR and games creators, and collaborated with universities and cultural institutions to explore how creative technology can enrich education, research and public engagement.At the heart of everything I do is a belief in the power of stories: to inspire, to connect, and to create belonging, whether in a classroom, a community, or an augmented, virtual or blended digital world.
