ABOUT AVIK CHOWDHURY

Lighting Designer working in the building industry for 5 years and a Master in Architectural Engineering ( specializing in Lighting ) from the Penn State University with a demonstrated expertise in delivering sustainable, human-centric projects across the globe. Passionate about creativity with a zeal to stay abreast of the growing design needs and technological trends in the market. I have utilized my daylighting, electrical lighting and control design skills in several high-performance building projects that have achieved Net Zero, WELL and LEED certifications spanning different sectors such as Healthcare, Higher Education, Commercial, Hospitality, Civic, Transportation and Campus Landscapes. A typical day at work for me involves producing the most inventive, energy efficient, code compliant lighting design, preparing sketch design proposals, coordinating with in-house Engineers, clients and other third parties, researching about the latest cutting edge product and technology in the market, visiting construction site for punch walk and fixture aiming, and attending educational industry seminars. I thrive in a dynamic, collaborative work environment that allows cross exchange of ideas from different engineering disciplines facilitating a seamless integration of services for the programmatic needs of a project. As a designer, I want to be involved in a varied portfolio of projects that challenge my innovative thinking and allow me to upgrade my technical skillset so that I can help earn more work potentially from a new, previously unexplored client base, shoulder more responsibilities in my team, and in turn build up my leadership abilities.
