Avi has advised private companies and their respective Boards on finance, business strategy, acquisitions, and leadership development, including mentorship of senior finance and operations managers.Appointed Interim President following the passing of Christopher Szybbo. Over the 11+ years that Avi was Chief Financial Officer for CBI Health Group, the business grew more than four-fold. He was responsible for managing requirements and relationships in the banking, audit and investor communities while providing financial expertise in senior corporate development, having overseen the finance, information technology, risk management, mergers & acquisitions and facilities functions. Mr. Barkin began his career with Price Waterhouse and, prior to joining CBI Health Group in June 2007, held senior financial and executive roles with large Canadian companies in the manufacturing and retail sectors during the previous 15 years. Mr. Barkin is a CA, a CPA and holds a B.Comm from the University of Toronto.He was attracted to CBI Health Group because of its demonstrated ability to make a positive difference in the lives of Canadians and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution towards its vision of being a leading company in helping to shape health care standards and practices in Canada.
