About Avery C. Li
A simple hello can lead to a million things.\" That quote has stuck with me throughout my academic and professional journey because it\'s true. A simple conversation over coffee, a quick intro at a networking event, or even a message on LinkedIn can open unexpected doors. I recently completed my Master of Science in Taxation at Fordham University and passed all four parts of the CPA exam (which, if you\'ve taken it, you know is like running a marathon. but, instead of water stations, it\'s late-night study sessions with coffee as your new best friend, and the finish line is a well-deserved one-week vacation in Hawaii. Yes, that is exactly what I did)! My journey started as a tax intern, where I discovered that navigating the tax code felt less like a chore and more like solving a giant (and oddly satisfying) financial puzzle. That experience helped pave the way for my next exciting chapter: joining EY as an FSO Tax Associate. Networking has always been a huge part of my growth, with every connection teaching me something, whether it was a new Excel trick or how to make GAAP jokes land in real life (still working on that). So, if you\'re reading this and thinking about saying hello, please do! You never know where it might lead.As I begin the next phase of my career in accounting, I\'m excited to keep learning, growing, and seeing where this journey takes me. And hey, if we ever get stuck in an elevator, I promise to only make one or two tax puns. Maybe three.(I promise I\'ll balance my humor!)
