ABOUT AVERY LORD
I believe everyone deserves the chance to participate fully in the activities that give their lives meaning — and that belief is what led me to occupational therapy.I’m an undergraduate student in the accelerated Bachelor’s to Doctorate (BS–OTD) program in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California.With hands-on research experience and over six years of working with youth and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, I’m deeply committed to empowering individuals to achieve meaningful participation in their daily lives.At USC, I serve as Chan’s Undergraduate Student Ambassador, where I share my love for OT and get to help support the strategic recruitment of future students.I’m particularly inspired by the intersection of occupational therapy and entrepreneurship. Utilizing my minor at the USC Marshall School of Business, I’m exploring innovative ways to expand access, improve outcomes, and empower individuals through creative, human-centered strategies.I’m always eager to keep learning, growing, and applying my skills in settings that advance the mission of occupational therapy.
