About Ava Norouzinia
I’m a 4th-year Computer Science student at Georgia Tech with a fascination for the human brain. I\'m especially drawn to how neuroscience and psychology intersect with machine learning, and how the brain’s inner workings can inspire more intuitive and adaptive neural networks.My passion doesn’t stop at brain-inspired algorithms. I\'m also deeply curious about how machine learning can be applied to genetics—how data, code, and a bit of computation can help us better understand DNA, disease, and what makes us us. The more I explore, the more I realize how much CS can contribute to unlocking medical breakthroughs and uncovering the mysteries of human behavior.For the longest time, I have been diving into hours of research, chasing that spark of understanding in the hopes of connecting a few dots. It\'s what\'s been motivating me to challenge myself and investigate further into this interdisciplinary realm. I\'ve been accepted into Georgia Tech’s BS/MS program, where I’ll specialize in Machine Learning. This next step will give me the hands-on experience and depth I need to contribute meaningfully at the intersection of tech and medicine—whether it’s building smarter models, uncovering insights in bioinformatics, or contributing to computational neuroscience.Outside of school, I serve as Vice President of PARS (Persian-American Resource Society), where I help foster cultural connection and support within the Iranian community on campus.If you’re also fascinated by how code can mimic or decode the brain, or you have an inkling to explore machine learning in medicine, let’s connect and exchange a few ideas.
