ABOUT AVANI GILL
As an award-winning undergraduate with a year-long placement at Microsoft, I’ve developed a strong foundation in business applications, digital innovation, and strategic communication. During my internship at Microsoft UK, I contributed to £1M+ pipeline growth by delivering high-impact customer presentations and technical demos to senior stakeholders across the public and financial sectors. I also played a key role in marketing efforts, hackathon innovation, and community-building events — earning the Social Impact & Responsible Business Award from Birmingham Business School in 2025. Alongside this, I was proud to be named the 1st Place Winner in the PRME UK & Ireland Responsible Business and Management Writing Competition (2024), recognised for my video presentation in the Alternative Media category that explored sustainable consumption through a creative and research-driven lens. Beyond the corporate world, I’ve shown entrepreneurial initiative as Founder & President of the Women in Tech Society at the University of Birmingham, and contributed to impactful extracurriculars such as mentoring and volunteering across healthcare and educational causes. Coming from a Sikh background, I also explore culture and spirituality through music — having spent the past year learning the Sarangi, an Indian classical string instrument, as part of the Gurmat Sangeet Academy (GSA). I’m driven by a mission to fuse technology, creativity, and purpose — and I’m always keen to collaborate on projects that promote inclusion, sustainability, and future-forward thinking.
