About Ava Versteeg

My name is Ava Versteeg and I am currently a junior at Newport High School. Through my education and job experience, I have acquired proficient business skills and strategies that I plan on applying to my future career. This includes but is not limited to Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, as well as Communications and Sales.This summer, I attended the National Student Leadership Conference at UC Berkeley with a focus on Business. While there, I had the opportunity to listen to lectures and apply expertise from various business professionals to real situations. This included both a stakeholder management project as well as a product pitch.Since 2018, I have pursued my passion for business at school by taking classes such as MoneySmart, Personal Finance, Business Law, as well as Intro to Marketing and Advanced Marketing. Furthermore, I took on the role of treasurer as one of the 3 junior commissioners for my high school\'s Link Crew. I also was involved in Newport DECA this year and competed at the Area and State levels. I plan on continuing my education and furthering my business background by AP Economics and AP Calculus this year, with a specific interested in International Business. I enjoy traveling, being outdoors, socializing with friends and family, and meeting new people.
