About Ava Elliott

As a Registered Dietitian (RDN) and Director of Food and Nutrition Services, I bring a detail-oriented and compassionate approach to nourishing students and supporting a culture of wellness within the school community. I earned my Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Pittsburgh and have specialized experience in pediatrics, women’s health, disordered eating, and motivational interviewing. My passion lies in creating inclusive, balanced, and enjoyable food experiences for all students—especially those navigating food allergies and sensitivities, which I understand firsthand.My philosophy centers on meeting individuals and communities where they are, providing education that empowers informed choices, and fostering a positive relationship with food. I believe that school meals are more than just nourishment—they are an opportunity to teach lifelong healthy habits, celebrate diversity, and bring joy to the table. While I take nutrition seriously, I also believe food should be enjoyed—ice cream remains my favorite reminder that balance is key.
