About Ava Battinelli

My name is Ava Battinelli, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Communications and the Arts with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Photography at Marist University. Here, I\'ve furthered my skills in the editorial and journalistic departments while also gaining experience in multimedia production. I currently serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the Mairst Circle, which demonstrates my extensive leadership skills and passion in this field, as well as my ability to team of writers and editors in producing high-quality content. Between editing, fact-checking, mentoring staff, and writing articles on arts, culture, politics, and campus news, I have experience in every aspect of the newspaper. I previously served as Co-Managing Editor and Campus News Co-Editor. Simultaneously, I work as a photographer for the Circle, which has enhanced my ability to capture visual elements that pair well with storytelling. While maintaining a 3.9 GPA and consistently earning a spot on the Dean\'s List, I also gained internship experience at Bergen County Magazine and The New Pine Plains Herald, which provided me with the opportunity to refine my reporting, photography, and investigative and feature writing skills.
