About Austin Calkins
I’m an HR professional motivated by achieving goals, leading, and helping others succeed through a positive, collaborative mindset.I serve as a Human Resources Assistant at SUNY Oswego, where I support training and development, onboarding, HR technology, HR analytics, and compliance, among other functions. I’m grateful to be in a role at my alma mater that allows me to contribute to meaningful initiatives, collaborate across the university, and continue growing as an HR professional. I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, which laid the foundation for the work I do today.Beyond my full-time role, I co-own TLC Kennels, a dog boarding facility in CNY, with my wife. Through this, I’m expanding my expertise in small business operations and finance. I also coach basketball at my high school alma mater, mentoring student-athletes and further building my leadership skills.I’m actively involved in the HR community through CNY SHRM and enjoy engaging with current and future professionals through speaking opportunities.I always enjoy connecting with others in HR, business, and beyond.
