Works in multidisciplinary engineering teams on design projects in Hydrogen, Cryogenics, and Oil & Gas industries. • Hydrogen process design experience includes:o Physical property calculations for liquid and gaseous hydrogen. o NFPA 2 and NFPA 55 conformance.o Relief vent stack designs for both cold and warm gas reliefs in accordance with CGA-G5.5.o Balance of plant design for PEM Electrolysis systems at scales of 10MW – 100MW, working directly with electrolyzer OEMs.o Liquid hydrogen storage, transportation, and vaporization process design for hydrogen fuel cell applications. o HAZID/HAZOP and other PHA studies.o Instrumentation selection and basic control loop design. • Develops project proposals including project scoping, budgetary estimates, and work-hour projections.• Develops PFDs and P & IDs for industrial projects that include air liquefaction facilities, green hydrogen production plants, and midstream/downstream oil and gas piping systems and facilities.• Develops process models using Aspen HYSYS and AFT Arrow/Fathom process simulation software.• Designs plant and equipment layouts in coordination with other engineering disciplines.• Performs sizing calculations for: PSVs based on API 520 and 521 standards, Vessels in accordance with ASME BPCV as well as control valves, pumps, and other process equipment as needed.• Designs piping systems in accordance with ASME B31.3, B16, API 5L, and other code and standards as required. • Cryogenic piping designs include vacuum insulated piping (VIP) selection, thermal safety analysis, and heat leak calculations and mitigation. • Reviews vendor submittal packages to ensure design specifications are met. • Updates process facility P & IDs from as-found conditions during site walkdowns.• Manages drafting resources and coordinates drawing development in AutoCAD, Revit, CADWorx, and other modeling software as needed.• Utilizes Agile project management methodologies.
