I’m Austin Schwark, a graduate of Material Science & Engineering with a specialization in polymer plastics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and I work as the Engineering Manager at Rehrig Pacific Company in Lawrenceville, GA.At Rehrig Pacific Company, we specialize in making plastic packaging products via injection molding. As a plant engineer, I am an individual contributor to the manufacturing process. During my time at Rehrig Pacific Company I have- Installed two IMM (Krauss Maffei 2300T & Engel Duo 1250T). Designed and outlined the machine footprints including the installation of the electrical power (primary and auxiliary), chilled and condensed water, compressed air, material system, and the operator/robot work cells. Managed a capital budget to complete the installations. Worked with technicians from KM and Engel to commission machines- Installed multiple automations. These include, but are not limited to, a crate labeler, trash can (ROC) automates stacker, tunnel wrapper, tote labeling automation, pallet welding automation, etc- Designed and installed automation to brand and assemble pallets that feed to a welding automation which will weld, palletize, and feed out to our product movers, which resulted in $155K in engineered savings in ‘21- Extremely proficient writing programs with Sepro, Engel Robotics, and Universal robots. Integrated many external pieces of equipment (cylinders, sensors, branders, conveyors, etc.) to the robot programs and control with I/Os- Designed, built, and implemented 3 collaborative robots in 2021 that lead to $61K in engineered savings- Project to expand and organize our EOAT area complete with standardizing all parts. Designed and built testing stations with part detection testing and ability to check functionality before moving to robots for production use. Built the entire inventory of EOAT spare parts and integrated with our CMMS Upkeep for sustainability- Managed summer plant engineer interns- Manufacturing Engineering Lead for 6 new products in our facility-Moderate processing Knowledge- Heavily involved in engineered solutions for safety concerns- Experience writing thorough, detailed, and easy to follow work instructions, operating procedures, and PM programs- Engineering Achievement Award for FY21- Experience with PLC and HMI programming (GX Works, GT Designer, CLICK)- Currently acting as Tooling Manager, where I am responsible for 4 mold technicians and 1 tooling repair technician- Scheduling out mold changes, repairs, and PMs- Leading tool rebuilds
