About Austin Popoff

I recently graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. I am currently an instrument engineer at bp Cherry Point.I have prior experience working at RH2 Engineering, Inc in the summers of 2019, 2020, and 2021. At RH2, I developed skills in AutoCad, learned how to work with a team, and was exposed to SCADA. I analyzed wastewater treatment samples which provided insight to the efficiency of a wastewater treatment plant. In the summer of 2023, I worked at Amalgamated Sugar in Nampa, Idaho as a process engineering intern. I studied the process of extracting sugar from sugar beets via pan boiling. My end goal forsummer was to provide an efficient, sustainable, and enduring method of consistently producinga higher percent recovery of sugar.In the summer of 2024, I worked at British Petroleum as an instrumentation engineering intern. I was exposed to different types of technology regarding flow, temperature, pressure, and level. My projects included trialing new technology in the refinery, replacing obsolete instrumentation, and installing instruments to give operations better monitorization and control of the process.
