About Austin Duckworth
I turned a passion for sports into a Ph.D, a published book, and a career advising Fortune 100 companies on global risks they should anticipate. My book, International Security and the Olympic Games, 1972–2020, explores the evolution of global security coordination at the Olympic Games. I\'ve sold shoes at running specialty retail stores, worked in crisis management during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and advised on preventing criminal activity facing a major financial institution. These varied experiences came because at heart, I\'m an athlete and I approach problems with competitiveness, curiosity, and a genuine appetite for the next challenge.Outside of work, I am an experienced long-distance runner and former NCAA Division I collegiate athlete and still compete in road races ranging from 5ks to major marathons.
