ABOUT AUNICA MCMULLEN

As a recent college graduate and a young professional, navigating into the \"real world\" was intimidating. I, like a lot of college graduates, had a hunger to find myself in the professional world, but also had an equal amount of fear to step into life after college. I also had no idea I would find myself in my current position. All I knew upon graduating was I wanted to work with and help others. My best advice to a young professional is to know your strengths and desires and pursue a career around those. Saying \"yes\" to any random opportunity does both you and the employer a disservice. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I heard friends that graduated before me say \"I just wasn\'t built for a 9-5.\" Oh, yes you are. You just haven\'t found your niche yet. I graduated from Pittsburg State in May of 2019 with a Bachelor\'s Degree of Science in Communication with an emphasis in Strategic Communication and a minor in Leadership. In May of 2020, I obtained my Master\'s Degree of Communication with a GPA of a 4.0. While obtaining my graduate degree, I held the position of Administrative Graduate Assistant in the Office of Student Life and the Vice President. I absolutely loved my time at Pittsburg State and cannot scream it from the non-existent mountain tops of Southeast Kansas enough. I am always one to help move others\' careers forward, so please don\'t hesitate to reach out and network with me!
