   I am a Senior Security Software Engineer at Microsoft in the Commercial Software Engineering team (CSE), which is a global engineering organization that works directly with the largest companies and not-for-profits in the world to tackle their most significant technical challenges. I am a security expert and consultant for the CSE engineering teams, performing risk assessments and vetting architecture before any coding starts. I work on tooling and security best practices to better integrate into the way we work, to ensure our 800+ engineers can build security into projects from the ground up. In Security Solutions, it is important to be super adaptive and to work across languages and tech stacks. For many of our customers, especially those in the Defense and Space industry, understanding compliance is vital in ensuring that standards for data privacy and security are met. As a result, it is important to understand the libraries and languages to which they may be restricted, and find solutions inside those parameters. I additionally focus on embedded and anti-tamper practices, keeping reverse engineers out; effectively “breaking the box” to prevent people from looking inside it.
