I have extensive real estate, title, compliance, corporate, finance, land use, foreclosure, property tax, and commercial litigation experience.I have led the closing team for complex, large scale commercial real estate transactions, including portfolio acquisitions and refinances, sale-leasebacks, mezzanine financing, partial and full equity transactions. My day-to-day includes advising clients on corporate and regulatory issues, reviewing due diligence including purchase and sale agreements, surveys, reports, corporate governance documents, title work, construction contracts and mechanics\' liens, and analyzing legal issues related to underwriting title coverage. I have also acted as a qualified intermediary on Section 1031 tax-deferred exchanges.My litigation experience includes handling all stages of litigation from pre-trial, trial, and appellate levels in the following areas: banking and financial services, real estate, ad valorem tax issues, and title issues. I have managed multi-state, high-volume litigation portfolios, participating in numerous mediations and arbitrations, and counseling clients on cost effective litigation and settlement strategies.I am licensed to practice law in Louisiana, Illinois and California, and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of California, Northern District of Illinois, all Louisiana Federal Districts and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.
