Richmond, VA, US

In my current role, I design and implement strategies that address social determinants of health by enhancing the quality of public health program delivery through community-based participatory interventions. This work broadly strengthens the capacity of the agency and its partners to promote and advance health equity by removing barriers to improved health outcomes.A signature initiative I lead is Virginia’s Congregations for Million Hearts program—a faith-based collaborative that engages houses of worship in innovative efforts to prevent cardiovascular disease and stroke.Previously, I directed key components of Henrico County’s Emergency Preparedness and Response volunteer programs, encompassing both medical and non-medical volunteers, thereby supporting public health and other countywide activities. Additionally, I facilitated the involvement of emergency response volunteers in efforts that successfully contributed to reducing the county’s infant mortality rate.
