ABOUT AUGUSTINE CHAN

Welcome to my LinkedIn profile! My name is Augustine and I\'d like to share a little bit about myself with you. Thank you for dropping by! What does leadership mean to me? It is the accumulation of all my experiences and those shared before me and that I may pass on these experiences beyond me to inspire, deliver and encourage the motivation required for people to continually work on themselves and achieve their dreams. It is to provide an open space for honesty, communication, trust and respect so that we may understand each other even in moments of conflict. It is leaning in to curiosity and not shying away from the tough conversations because working together, we will lift each other higher rather than working in isolation and resentment. We are at a turning point in our society in which technology has only begun to uncover the unlimited potential to make our lives more convenient and comfortable. I am excited and ready to embrace these changes in an agile and adaptable manner. However, with this great change, I believe more than ever that individuals are struggling with healthy coping habits and understanding their purpose due to toxic norms embedded in society and our upbringings. We are hurting more than ever, and without the right tools and resources to unlearn our toxic behaviours in our private, public and professional spaces, we carry on this baggage hoping to find a sense of self and belonging but unable to attain it because we are not stepping into our authentic selves. As a Financial Advisor at TD Canada Trust, I am incorporating a stories based approach to my advising. I want to lean in on the struggles of my clients and lead my conversation with empathy and intentional listening. I create a comfortable and confident environment for my clients to meet their financial goals because they show up authentically and unapologetically to meet those needs. I do this in a collaborative effort because leadership is an interactive process, and I have much to learn from those around me to elevate me to the better version of me I can be, and in turn I hope to share my experiences to inspire them to be the better versions of themselves.
