About Audrey Taylor

I am the lead audiologist at the Davies Institute for Speech and Hearing and I obtained my Doctor of Audiology (AuD) from the University of Texas at Dallas. I previously obtained my B.A. from Baylor University and have experience in clinical, research, and administrative settings. I currently serve as the Chair for the National Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) Advisory Committee, a volunteer on the American Academy of Audiology Member Engagement Committee, a volunteer on the Texas Academy of Audiology (TAA) Pediatric Audiology Committee, and a volunteer on the Houston Pediatric Audiology Task Force.

   Clinical Skills:• Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations: BOA, VRA, CPA, and traditional pure-tone testing,DPOAEs/TEOAEs, immittance testing• Traditional hearing aids, bone conduction devices, FM/DM systems: evaluation, programming,fitting, verification through real-ear measures, troubleshooting, and earmold impressions• Cochlear implant candidacy evaluations, equipment orientation, activation, and programming• Auditory Evoked Potentials: threshold/neuro-diagnostic ABRs (natural sleep)Administrative Skills & Clinical Development:• Served as Lead Audiologist and developed the DISH audiology program• Built referral database with neurotologists across Houston to develop cochlear implant program• Set up contracts with all hearing aid and cochlear implant manufacturers• Served on the Greater Houston Area Educational & Clinical Audiology Task Force conferenceplanning committee to better serve pediatric patients and increase referrals• Completed literature reviews and developed protocols for all audiology services• Engaged in daily multidisciplinary collaborations with DISH auditory verbal therapists, speechpathologists, occupational therapists, and teachers to ensure sufficient clinic services andparamount patient care• Created and presented education presentations for multi-disciplinary staff to educate regardingaudiology practices• Managed equipment set up and maintained clinical supplies
