ABOUT AUDREY RUBIN
Audrey Rubin is a recognized leader in operational, financial, and cultural excellence in the workplace. She advises on profitability, cost reduction, talent and diversity, and technology for law departments, law firms, and professional services firms. She also brings her experience and skills to companies as a corporate board Director. A successful Chief Operating Officer of law departments and firms, General Counsel, Law Professor, Vice President of Human Resources, Board Member, and law firm Partner, Rubin understands all facets of today’s business world. She is a Senior Advisor with BarkerGilmore, providing coaching and value improvements to GCs and law departments, and Senior Faculty with Legal Lean Sigma Institute. Most recently, she was Vice President and C.O.O of the Global Law and Compliance Department of Aon Corporation. In that role, she was responsible for all budget, talent, strategic planning, technology, process improvement, and other business matters. She is also Adjunct Professor of Law at University of Illinois College of Law, teaching The Changing Business of Law. Rubin was General Counsel and Vice President of Legal and Human Resources for three global companies: Orbitz, Grant Thornton, and Apollo Travel Services. She was C.O.O. of two prominent law firms, as well as a business litigation partner in private practice. She has served as V.P, G.C, Corporate Secretary and Board Member of several international companies.Rubin Chaired the Illinois Task Force on Gender Bias in the Courts. She was appointed to the American Bar Association’s Presidential Task Force on Women in the Profession. Rubin serves on the Task Force on Sustainable Practice of Law and Innovation, preparing recommendations to the Illinois Supreme Court on Rules changes reflecting innovation in the law business. She is Past President of the Yale Club of Chicago, and has served on many not-for-profit boards, including Metropolitan Family Services, the Yale Alumni Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. Among other honors, she has received the Early Adopter Award from Illinois Legal Aid Online, and the prestigious “Women of Achievement” award from the Anti-Defamation League. Among her many articles and presentations, she was the focus of a cover story in Inside Counsel: “Comrades in Ops,” and featured in Crain’s Chicago Business: “How Lawyers are like Office Supplies.” Rubin received her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, Dean’s List. A Yale National Scholar, she graduated from Yale University with a B.A. cum laude.
