As the senior-most Safety and Industrial Hygiene Subject Matter Expert, I serve as a key advisor to the site EHS Head, driving the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of world-class EHS programs at North America’s largest biopharmaceutical CDMO greenfield site.I architect and oversee comprehensive EHS strategies, ensuring robust compliance with OSHA, NCDEQ/EPA, NFPA, and other regulatory frameworks. My responsibilities span the full project lifecycle—from construction and commissioning through operational startup—encompassing the creation and management of site-wide SOPs, training, and education initiatives.I lead the development and global harmonization of EHS KPIs, presenting actionable insights to site leadership, and collaborating across six global sites to streamline EHS performance metrics. Leveraging advanced risk assessment methodologies, I proactively identify and mitigate potential serious injuries and fatalities (PSIFs), and spearhead the design and execution of industrial hygiene programs (noise, air, surface).My role includes managing consultants, contractors and programs, serving as the technical SME for external and internal audits, and conducting global site EHS audits for regulatory and corporate alignment. I provide expert guidance during site design and 3D model reviews, embedding EHS by design principles and facilitating closure of 300+ Process Hazard Assessments.Key achievements include shaping global EHS KPIs with leading indicators, cultivating a proactive “Safety 2.0” culture, and integrating engineering controls during design to drive systemic risk reduction.
