ABOUT AUDREY ANTON

Experienced Professor of Philosophy with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Lecturing, Academic Writing, Grants, and Student Development. Strong education professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in Philosophy from The Ohio State University. More about Audrey: My main areas of research are Ancient Philosophy (especially Aristotle\'s Ethics), Moral Psychology (especially Moral Responsibility and Psychopathy), Normative Ethics (especially Virtue Ethics) and Philosophical Gerontology. I teach courses on Plato, Aristotle, Stoics, Skeptics, Epicureans, a Medieval Philosophy survey, Moral Responsibility, Vice (Enduring Questions Class: Why Are Bad People Bad?), Ethics (Ethical Theory, Applied Ethics, Social Ethics, and Biomedical Ethics), and Philosophy of Aging. I especially enjoy teaching \"mixed\" populations. For example, I like to teach courses in prisons whereby half of my students come from WKU and the other half are incarcerated. I also love teaching intergenerational classes where I mix my standard class with one from our local Society for Lifelong Learning (members must be over 50 years of age). Finally, I am committed to pre-college education in Philosophy, and I mentor a group of undergraduate students who teach workshops regularly to younger students (for example, in our local high schools and juvenile detention center). My research in Ancient Philosophy brings me regularly to Greece, a beautiful country where I hope to lead a study abroad trip in the near future.
