ABOUT AUDREY ALBERT

When people wonder why I specialise in concrete, I can only answer that this material is all around us and that makes it one of the most versatile and surprising. I trained as a civil engineer and now have nearly 6 years\' experience in the field of cementitious materials and reinforced concrete structures. I\'m currently Technical Manager at Béton Préfabriqué Fortier. My role is to provide technical support for projects involving the manufacture of prefabricated concrete parts. This means managing a team of quality control technicians as well as the quality management system and working with the team to ensure that we continue to achieve the best possible standards in a growing industry. My career path began when I completed a research-based master\'s degree focusing on the development of ultra-high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete at the Université de Sherbrooke. Through my first years as an engineer, I had the pleasure of working on a number of projects, including the evaluation of reinforced concrete structures, the assessment of the residual service life of reinforced concrete structures, the characterisation of concrete mixtures, the inspection of reinforced concrete structures, the characterisation of concrete mixtures and the formulation of concretes (BCR, BFUP). My areas of interest are : Lean management, quality systems, continuous improvement, durability of reinforced concrete structures and analysis of the residual service life of structures.
