About Aubrey Strause

Aubrey is the Municipal Services Coordinator with Acorn, complementing the award-winning firm\'s team of engineers and scientists as they grow to serve their communities and clients, drawing on her 20 years of consulting experience in site development, management of stormwater and wastewater, and regulatory frameworks. She is also the Owner and Manager of Verdant Water, PLLC, presently taking a recess. She was the 2014 President of the Maine Water Environment Association (MEWEA). In her professional career, Aubrey has focused on land use, municipal stormwater management and compliance, wastewater connection systems, and watershed restoration (learn more at She was the facilitator/co-facilitator of the Central Massachusetts Regional Stormwater Coalition- a group of 30 Massachusetts communities implementing a regional approach stormwater management- from 2012 to 2016. Learn more at Aubrey has been active with a coast-to-coast team of water quality associations - including WEF, NACWA, many state member organizations, and individual cities and districts - that has engaged with manufacturers to reduce the burden of non-dispersible consumer wipes on municipal systems. She has picked through a LOT of raw sewage to determine exactly what products (down to the brand!) are being flushed- she\'d be happy to pick through yours, too. She\'s also done presentations and workshops around the country on this topic since 2009 and was the facilitator for the Pilot Public Education Campaign (with a core message of \"Save Your Pipes: Don\'t Flush Baby Wipes\") from September 2013 to May 2014.
