ABOUT AUBREY GALLOWAY

Dr. Galloway is the Seymour Cohn Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Director of the Cardiac Surgery Research Program at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Langone Health, where he has been on the faculty since 1985 and served as Chair of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery from 20••••21. He is internationally recognized for mitral valve repair and surgery for complex valvular heart disease; and has been an investigator on multiple clinical trials in cardiac surgery, valvular & structural heart disease, coronary artery disease and mechanical circulatory support. His translational research has included studies on cardiac angiogenesis, molecular signaling pathways in the vascular response to injury, and studies on dysregulated host immunotranscriptomic patterns in post myocardial infarction cardiogenic shock patients receiving mechanical circulatory support. He has multiple biotechnology and medical device patents, with over 10 licensed to industry for commercialization, and is on the Scientific Advisory Board of various companies. Dr. Galloway is a member the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) and the AATS Foundation Board, American Surgical Association, American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, American College of Surgeons and Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He has over 320 publications in the medical literature and has given over 100 national or international lectures and presentations.
