About Atul Raj Nagesh Danda

I currently work with Itron. My role as a Staff System Test Engineering at Itron entails many skills such as debugging multiple low power, lossy network behavior for which our understanding of multiple protocols are required. We work closely with the firmware development team to explain bugs we encounter while testing. This gives us opportunities to sit in on code reviews and also verify certain said fixes by comparing behavior of the IoT devices to what the dev team expects. When Testing comes in to play, data plays an important role. Our skills with SQL has helped us create views to interpret data better to give better results. The role encompasses many different disciplines in a product life cycle. This has given me a wider understanding of different aspects of a product which helps me have a \"Big Picture\" point of view and help me work on the smaller aspects more efficiently. I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park on May 2017. My Masters was a well rounded telecommunication course with an array of subjects in the fields of IoT, Networks, Wireless Communication, Cellular, Distributed Systems and Programming. The world we live in today needs the expertise I have studied in. Almost every digital device is on the Internet today, the communication usually is over WiFi/Cellular. I believe that If a person were to be any kind of Network/Software/IoT Engineer it is imperative they have knowledge in all fields. The taste of Consumers have evolved and being a Jack of All may actually be the way to go for an Engineer.
