About Atul Rawal

I am a computational biology scientist with a Ph.D. in Nanoengineering. I am currently pursuing additional Ph.D\'s in AI/ML and Computer Science working on Causal Explainable AI (XAI). I work as a postdoctoral research fellow with the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, U.S Food and Drug Administration. Additionally, I am also a visiting research fellow with DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory. My research expertise lies in the fields of biomaterials, biophysics, and biomedical engineering, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and theoretical physics. My computational skills, include MATLAB, COMSOL Multiphysics, LabVIEW, Mathematica, Molecular Dynamics, Atomistic Modelling, Coarse-Grained Modeling, QM/MM Modeling, VMD, GROMACS, NAMD, ROSETTA, Cell-Blender, Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Aided Design, Java, C++, Python, FORTRAN, and Visual Basic. I also have high-performance computing (HPC) systems administration skills for high performance computing clusters including software and hardware maintenance. My experimental skills include Nano-microscopy including SEM, TEM, STM, & AFM. Nano-Fabrication skills including, ALD, PVD, CVD, & clean room experience. I am multilingual (Nepali, Gujarati, Hindi, Spanish, French, English)
