ABOUT ATUL BHARTI
Bridging data science and public policy to design evidence-based solutions for inclusive development.I work at the intersection of data analytics, field evidence, and social policy, with a focus on livelihoods, gender, and governance. I’m motivated by the challenge of translating rigorous data into decisions that matter on the ground.Over the past three years, I’ve worked in microeconomic research and public policy, primarily through large-scale evaluations and monitoring projects at J-PAL South Asia. My experience spans Randomized Control Trials (RCTs), Pre–Post analyses, and Monitoring & Evaluation, with hands-on involvement in survey design, field coordination, data management, and statistical analysis.Extensive fieldwork in one of India’s poorest states shaped my interest in applied, implementation-focused research and highlighted the gap between data availability and policy action. This led me to pursue a Master’s in Data Science for Public Policy at the Hertie School, Berlin, where I am deepening my technical skills while engaging with questions of governance and accountability.I’m particularly interested in how data science and AI can strengthen public institutions and social protection systems. I’m currently open to student assistant or part-time research roles in economics, data science, or policy research.Top Clifton Strengths: Learner | Analytical | Context | Responsibility | Restorative
