PhD and MS in Counseling and Counselor Education. Nationally Certified Counselor and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (NC & VA). Over twenty years experience in higher education with an emphasis on counseling and student development since 1998. Teaching online as well as counseling diverse college students, especially non-traditional college students, has been a focal point. Supervised master\'s level students in counseling as well as created college and career-related publications including curriculum materials for educators across NC. Presented on topics related to non-traditional students at conferences and other venues. Specialties: First generation and non-traditional college students, career counseling, and online teaching. I enjoy working with college students in the LGBTQIA+ community, international students, people of color, and people who have experienced oppression and marginalization in their communities.

   Directs operations for the center; responsible for planning, budget, and assessment of center activities. Provides direct counseling services to students, crisis intervention, and consultation with other university employees. Provides clinical supervision of professional staff and intern/practicum students for mental health services and campus crisis intervention. Updates and maintains counseling center policies and procedures to maintain strict adherence to legal and ethical standards as they relate to mental health counseling. Serves on university committees and task forces, such as the University Senate, CARE Team, Women\'s Leadership Initiative, First Generation College Students, and the Threat Assessment Team. Establishes, builds, and maintains professional associations and relationships with campus and community partners. Serves as Averett Online Psychology Program Adjunct Faculty. Courses taught: Social Psychology (Fall 2023, Spring 2025); Principles of Professional Conduct in Psychology (\"Ethics;\" Spring 2024); Developmental Psychology (\"Lifespan Development,\" Fall 2024). Also, teaches IDS 110 \"freshman seminar.\"
