Experience
Senior Software Engineer
Jul 2018 — Present · Raleigh-Durham, NC, US
Developed a micro-service to manage authentication and authorization of the cloud-based products using Keycloak.• As part of a team tasked with revamping the current software offering model to a cloud-based one, I developed extensive knowledge of technologies and platforms like containers, Kubernetes, Helm, GCP, AWS, etc.• Lead efforts into transforming a multitude of existing monolithic products to cloud-based ones. This complex task involved containerizing these technologically diverse applications, ranging from a database to a RESTful app to a complex GUI-based design tool. • Once containerized the next step was to create Helm charts that can be consistently deployed in a Kubernetes cluster across different cloud providers.• Created a RESTful Node application based on LoopBack API framework, that managed the generation of composite Helm charts.• Developed a custom monitoring and visualization feature for the composite Helm charts, using Prometheus and Grafana, that collected key metrics from deployed applications in a Kubernetes cluster.• Prototyped use of service mesh to deploy and monitor applications in Kubernetes and leverage them for multi-cluster support.• Used FluxCD and Flagger for progressive delivery of application in Kubernetes cluster. It involved application state management using Gitlab repository and canary release into stable environment.• Built a RESTful billing application that collected these metrics to generate a bill for the deployed applications in a cluster.
