As an Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist I have knowledge in, and responsibility for, quickly and accurately managing access requests, detecting data loss, and assessing risk associated with access requests. The incumbent enforces the access-control principles of \"least privilege\". The incumbent administers various access level to SSA platforms. Duties and responsibilities to adhere to agency policies to ensure system analysis meets agency security requirements. I diagnose and resolve customer reported system incidents, problems, and events to prevent data loss. I also implement security measures to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate. I communicate with upper management in the form of verbal and written communications. I verify minimum security requirements are in place for all applications to ensure security of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to prevent data loss. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge in network access, identity, and access management to ensure agency data is maintained in a secure environment. Knowledge of organizational security policies, to ensure recommended agency security. Skill in applying confidentiality, integrity, and availability principles, to prevent data loss. The complexity is analytical. Work consists of implementing and maintaining IT security systems that are applied to a variety of applications. In addition to developing new information, interpretation of considerable data, planning the work, refining methods, and resolving problems. The scope is primary to assist in assuring that the establishment and maintenance of policy, procedure, and standards for internal control, security and integrity in SSA are handled with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and consistency. The work also involves the quality of agency operations, and service to the beneficiary population, the effectiveness of SSA employees and public confidence and acceptance of social insurance programs.
