ABOUT ATIQUE AZAM MIRZA
Dr. Atique A. Mirza is a Consultant Cardiologist at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford Connecticut. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at University of Connecticut School of Medicine & Assistant Professor at Frank H. Netter M.D. School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. He is a current fellow of American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan and American College of physicians. He is President Hartford County Medical Society. He completed his cardiovascular medicine fellowships at Brigham & Women Hospital, Harvard Medical School and University of Connecticut. He is the founding president of the Allama Iqbal Medical College Alumni Association of North America and the founding President of the Connecticut Chapter of the APPNA. He is a Board Member of Farmington Valley American Muslim Center, Inc, and Farmington Valley VNA. Dr. Mirza is a community activist, who has been involved in increasing the recognition of health and social issues faced by Asian Americans at the local and national level. Dr. Mirza was appointed by the Governor of the State of Connecticut as a Commissioner for the Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission for the state of Connecticut & testified in the Connecticut General Assembly for the commission. He was awarded the 2018 American College of Physicians Connecticut Chapter’s Volunteerism award. He received official citation in 2021 by State of Connecticut General Assembly President Pro Tempore Mr. Martin M. Loony & Secretary of State of CT Ms. Denise Merrill for his leadership. He has lectured on health issues & various cardiovascular conferences and symposiums. He has organized multiple conferences at national and international levels for Youth empowerment and training in Cardiovascular medicine.
