About Atia Islam Ankhi

Greetings and welcome to my profile. I am Atia Islam Ankhi, an Optical Science and Engineering PhD student and research assistant at the Center for High Technology Materials at The University of New Mexico. My research involves the simulation of photonic devices, developing fabrication processes, and characterizing the devices. I am also developing a process for photonic device flip-chip bonding. In the summer of 2023, I worked as an AFRL Career STREAM Project Mentor, where I guided them to build a robotics project. Prior to this, I was a lecturer at the Military Institute of Science and Technology, Bangladesh in the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Communication Engineering. I completed my B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh in 2020. In 2019, I was honored to be one of the Champions of the Huawei Seed for the Future program in Bangladesh, where I had the opportunity to visit Huawei\'s headquarters in Shenzhen, China, and represent Bangladesh among participants from 176 countries. During this program, I received extensive training in networking technologies including 5G, IoT, and cloud computing, and gained hands-on experience configuring a newly invented 5G base station in Huawei\'s lab.I am a team player and a dedicated learner with strong problem-solving abilities, which I believe will enable me to make significant contributions to the field of research. Feel free to contact me if my expertise can be of assistance in solving real-life problems.
