About Atharva Shinde

I’m currently diving deep into my Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina State University, where I’m not just learning the theory but also getting my hands dirty with practical applications. My journey began back in Pune, India, where I spent over two years as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Indovance Inc. There, I had the opportunity to work with industry-standard tools like SolidWorks and CATIA V5 to create precise 2D and 3D models that met strict project specifications. One of my proudest moments was when I successfully integrated complex models that streamlined our project execution by reducing errors by about 30%.Before that role, I was fortunate enough to intern at Forbes Marshall where I tackled real-world challenges like optimizing steam strap sizes to prevent water hammer failures—an experience that taught me the importance of practical problem-solving in engineering. My time as a Suspension and Vehicle Dynamics Engineer with Team DART was equally thrilling; we designed an all-wheel-drive buggy for competitive rally events. It was exhilarating to see our designs come to life on the track!I’ve also gained valuable insights into manufacturing processes during my internship at Carbtools (India) Pvt. Ltd, where I learned about carbide tool production and operated a 4-axis EDM wire cut machine—skills that have broadened my understanding of the mechanical landscape.Outside of academics and work, I enjoy collaborating on projects that push boundaries—whether it\'s building vehicles or participating in hackathons. I\'m always eager to connect with fellow enthusiasts who share a passion for innovation in mechanical engineering. If you’re looking for someone who is passionate about design engineering and eager to contribute fresh ideas during summer internships or collaborative projects, feel free to reach out! You can contact me via email for discussions on potential opportunities or just to chat about all things mechanical.Skills- SolidWorks- CATIA V5- Autodesk Inventor- ANSYS Workbench- 3D Modeling- Design Engineering
