Maintenance of Fire detection system onboard- Maintain and routinely inspect electrical machinery, equipment, distribution, and lighting systems as assigned- Maintenance and upgrade to ship\'s galley equipment in line with company\'s procedure- Monitoring and adjusting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)- Troubleshooting Emerson valves and Emerson Flood Switches in machinery spaces- Perform Lock-out Tag-out in preparation for diving operations- Troubleshoot Propulsion drive failures when they occur- Report to Chief Electrician with regards to status of assignments and consumption of spare parts and stores- Plan and report work in Company planned maintenance system- Other duties as assigned

I\'m a Power Systems Engineer and Marine Electrician passionate about delivering clean, sustainable energy. With an MPhil in Power Systems Engineering and hands-on experience working aboard international humanitarian vessels, I’ve developed deep technical skills in electrical systems, energy efficiency, and infrastructure resilience. I recently started researching a project called Smart Modular Solar Energy Hub (SMSEH), a scalable, AI-enabled energy solution for off-grid and semi-urban areas. This project is more than a tech solution; it’s a policy-aligned, community-driven innovation designed to scale with national electrification plans. My ultimate goal is to shape policies that drive Africa’s energy transformation. I’m particularly aligned with initiatives like Mission 300, which aim to bring electricity to 300 million Africans by 2030. I’m seeking opportunities to contribute technical insight to policy-making and help deliver sustainable solutions to rural electrification.
