About Aiswarya Babu Shelvi

Meliorist. Artist. Backpacker. Scribbler. Aiswarya is a social impact artist, intersectional feminist, and gender-youth activist. She is passionate about leading change actions and inspiring people to become change agents. Toward upholding social justice, she believes in the prowess of education and activism for equitising access to opportunities and breaking systemic barriers. Her focus areas are reimagining learning, women empowerment, youth development & leadership. Representing Asia at Amnesty International Youth Task Force, Aiswarya was one among 16 youth leaders selected globally to design Amnesty’s long-term influencing strategy. In her social change experiences as a Program Manager at Anthill Creations and Outreach Coordinator at Amnesty International India, she has been a part of impact actions through community engagements, campaigning against gender-based violence, working for children’s education, and organising awareness activities on women’s safety, child rights, and LGBTQ+ rights in India. Further, her collaboration as an Advisor at Rise Up Forum and Content Manager at Motwani Jadeja Foundation shaped her skills in facilitation for youth, transformational leadership, development communication, programme management, and partnership building. As a speaker for youth leadership, Aiswarya has been invited as a guest speaker at colleges; Alphonsa College, Thiruvambady and NSS College of Engineering, encouraging her to realise the importance of voicing out to inspire. Enabling the voiceless to be vocal, she believes in the purpose of empowering young people, women, LGBTQ+ and other marginalised communities, thereby aiding in creating an equitable and inclusive world for all. On the personal side, Aiswarya is a dancer who enjoys contemporary and hip hop, a backpacker exploring the beauty of diverse places and people, and a confused writer still in love with pen and paper. She is also an ardent Robert Frost fan, living by his lines,\'Taking the Road Not Taken\' with \'Miles to go before I sleep\'.
