About Camila Leiva
I received my Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri on May 2022. My relevant experiences includes my engineering Design Capstone, which is a year long course that emphasizes in teaching the principles of process engineering. In my capstone class, we learned to model processes using process flow diagrams, do initial plant proposals and optimize already existing processes to improve yearly profits. During my undergraduate career, I did research in the change in tungsten’s metallic properties at grain boundaries from a build-up of hydrogen atoms. In my research, I used LAMMPS and Python to minimize energy at the grain boundaries and compute changes in the yield stress of metals like iron and tungsten.
