ABOUT ASSYIFA SZAMI ILMAN
I’m an economic and policy researcher specializing in macroeconomic surveillance, forecasting, and public finance. I’ve supported country and regional work across Asia and the Pacific, contributing to analysis of real, fiscal, external, and monetary sectors and to cross-country databases and projection tools. My experience spans international organizations and research institutes, including macro-financial forecasting, econometric modeling, and policy diagnostics. I’ve contributed to flagship and recurring macro products (including outlooks and regional work) and have worked on thematic issues such as inflation dynamics, sovereign risk monitoring, and (subnational) public finance (including intergovernmental transfers, local government debt, and public finance management research).Beyond research production, I’ve taught international macroeconomics, quantitative methods, intermediate microeconomics, and the Indonesian economy through my capacity as Teaching Assistant. I also actively communicate economic insights through editorial work (i.e, blogs and op-eds) and post engagement does not necessarily express my own personal view or the institution where I am currently working for.
