ABOUT ASSILE TOUFAILY
I\'m a freelance sports journalist covering women\'s football news. I\'ve written for different outlets, including Forbes as a contributor. I\'m currently a year-four sports sociology PhD. Candidate. My study focuses on the socialization modalities of young female footballers, in Lebanon and in France. I will defend my thesis in September 2025. I\'m the founder and host of \"The Super Subs\" podcast, the first of its kind in the MENA region dedicated to women\'s football. My passion for football started at 3 years old. It grew, I became a footballer, I played with many clubs in Lebanon, represented my country, coached in academies, retired early because of lack of opportunities in MENA. 🧰 I decided to keep working in football, but redirected myself towards research and development projects as well as freelance journalism. Post PhD, I\'d love to continue contributing to the growth of the women\'s game, whether it is through consultancy work, media work, or any other project around the game. I\'m always open to making new connections, meeting people, interviewing empowering female footballers, and collaborating.
