ABOUT ASSEAL ABDU

Currently pursuing a B.S. in Neuroscience at UCLA. I’m passionate about the translational, cognitive, and systems-level applications of neuroscience, especially where brain health, policy, and education meet. I\'m currently involved in clinical neuro-psychiatric research in UCLA\'s translational neuroimaging lab and neuro-education research under the UCLA Health neurology residency program. I’m especially drawn to interdisciplinary work that connects STEM education, mental health advocacy/policy, global health, and the emerging field of neuroscience in space medicine. Beyond UCLA, I serve as a UN NGO Representative and Chief Operating Officer for the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Med Coalition, and I’m engaged in space medicine research through UCLA as well as SGAC’s FIGURES initiative, which focuses on addressing gender disparities in space health data.On the side, I enjoy coding small desktop applications and games, and I love transcribing books into Braille to support accessible learning!
