ABOUT ASSA SAMAKÉ-ROMAN
With over ten years of experience in journalism and editorial roles, I am a dedicated professional passionate about storytelling and fostering meaningful dialogue on critical issues. My journey in the media industry has led me to cover Scottish politics, culture, and society for both French-speaking and UK media outlets, including The National, BBC Scotland, RFI, RTS (Switzerland), Mediapart, Politis, and Le Figaro. In addition to my work as a freelance journalist, I have also served as a commissioning editor for the francophone website of VaccinesWork, hosted by Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance. In this role, I collaborated with a diverse team of journalists primarily based in Africa, covering topics such as infectious diseases, vaccination, climate change, and human rights. I am also the founder and editor of La Revue Ecossaise, a French-language magazine dedicated to exploring Scotland\'s politics, society, travel and culture. In 2020, I published my first book, Ecosse : Hadrien et la licorne (Nevicata, collection Âme des Peuples). My diverse experiences have equipped me with a range of skills, including content creation, editing, project management, and cross-cultural communication.
