About Asmita Padmanabhan
I am Asmita Padmanabhan, a second-year BTech IT student at SSN College of Engineering. I graduated from Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, Chennai. I am also pursuing BS Data Science degree from IIT Madras. I have a keen interest in coding, public speaking and Sanskrit. My pursuits also extend to Indian heritage and temples, reflecting a harmonious blend of tradition and technology. As a freelance writer for Sruti Magazine, India\'s premier performing arts publication, I delve into the nuances of Carnatic music, sharing my insights and critiques. My blog, Musical Musings, serves as a platform where I publish reviews and articles related to Carnatic music. At SSN College of Engineering, I hold the position of Head of Content Creation for the first-year magazine Vibrations, further honing my editorial and writing abilities. During my tenure at school, I served as the Director of Club Services for the Interact Club, where I was instrumental in organizing over 50 events focused on charity, awareness-spreading and change-making. These experiences significantly enhanced my leadership and event management skills. I also contributed actively to school cultural events and had the privilege of hosting multiple events, including those conducted in Sanskrit. With over 13 years of training in Carnatic music, I have developed a profound passion for this classical art form and hold a certificate in Advanced Carnatic Music from Narada Gana Sabha. In my leisure time, I enjoy listening to music, watching cricket, and re-reading the Harry Potter series and fan-fictions. I am also deeply interested in studying scriptures and exploring Indian heritage and temples. Engaging in discussions about politics and participating in MUNs allows me to stay informed and articulate my perspectives effectively.
