At elbarlament e.V, I managed several projects focused on supporting peacebuilding, civic education, and inclusive dialogue in Iraq, with a particular emphasis on empowering women and marginalized communities. One of the main projects was Women Talking Peace, which aimed to strengthen the role of women in peacebuilding and state-building processes across Iraq. The project brought together women from different ethnic and religious backgrounds—Kurdish, Shiite, Sunni, and minority groups—and engaged them in dialogue, training, and joint activities. Participants included members of parliament, government representatives, civil society leaders, and professionals from the justice and security sectors. We also worked with local decision-makers, tribal and religious leaders to create broader support for women’s participation in peace efforts. The second project is Democracy Needs Civic Education which focused on promoting political awareness and civic engagement in Iraq. The core of this project was the creation of a digital civic education platform offering accessible resources—articles, videos, and interactive tools—to support democratic participation and dialogue across the country. The platform also helps increase the visibility of organizations active in civic education. In addition, I coordinated the Systematic Review of Dialogue Experiences in Iraq, a study analyzing how dialogue has been used in different peace and reconciliation initiatives. The research included interviews with key actors from Iraqi institutions, international organizations, and local civil society. The findings highlight best practices, challenges, and lessons learned, and offer recommendations for improving future dialogue efforts in Iraq.

I\'m a Project Officer at Elbarlament, a peacebuilding and democracy support organization, where I work on projects with a focus on Iraq. My academic background includes a Master’s in Humanitarian Action from the University of Malta, where I focused on migration, human rights law, and search and rescue in the central Mediterranean—a region close to my heart. Since 2012, I’ve been active in Tunisia where the focus of my work was on human rights, women’s rights, and migration issues. I have held positions during my journey with Tunisian NGOs, UN agencies and international organizations across Tunisia, Libya, Malta, and Germany.
