About Aslam Kakar

I am Aslam Kakar, a Ph.D. in Global Affairs. My Ph.D. research delves into intra-state ethnopolitical conflicts and social movements, focusing on Pashtuns in Pakistan and Kurds in Turkey. I explore the intricate relationship between ethnopolitical movements and conflict strategy, employing perspectives from comparative politics and historical sociology. During my PhD journey, I taught for seven years across disciplinary boundaries and departments, including Global Affairs, Political Science, and Sociology and Anthropology.Eager to explore diverse career paths, I am actively pursuing postdoctoral and teaching positions aligned with my research and teaching interests. As an academic and educator, I aspire to design and teach courses on ethnic politics, social movements, peace and justice studies, human rights, democratization, migration studies, and research methods. I am passionate about working at a University or Community College, leveraging my experience and skills to excel in such roles. The power of connection is profound, so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions. I look forward to connecting with like-minded individuals and institutions. Thank you!
