About Kara Askwig

DevOps and Platform Engineering Manager with a passion for Software Craftsmanship, Lean Agile, Paired-Programming, and Innovation. Having worked on multiple agile teams over the past 9 years, I have a strong background in various Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, XP, Lean, and SAFe. I have experience leading data driven cloud based production teams and DevOps teams. I have written in many programming languages over the years, most recently Scala and Java, and am an advocate for choosing most optimal language for the job. Along with developing in Scala and Java, I have experience with writing CI/CD pipelines with fully automated tests at all levels of the testing pyramid, smoke-tests, performance tests, regression tests, static code analysis, blue-green deployments to deliver production applications. I love learning, collaborating, sharing knowledge in order to enable those around and build the future. Being the competitive person that I am, I welcome new challenges with open arms and am always eager find innovative solutions.
