I am Dr. Asiyah D. Franklin, a maternal health innovator, public health researcher, and nurturing leader committed to advancing wellness and equity for Black women and birthing people. With over 25 years of experience in public health, maternal infant health, nonprofit leadership, and clinical training, my mission is rooted in both lived experience and scholarly expertise.As the Founder and CEO of Miryam, I am building an AI-driven maternal health platform designed to predict and prevent complications for Black mothers; bridging data, technology, and community care. Miryam was born out of a legacy of care and loss, named to honor my grandmother and driven by a bold vision: to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity through culturally centered, tech-enabled care models that actually work for us.In parallel, I serve as Associate Editor of a Global Maternal Health Journal, where I champion equity-focused research and elevate underrepresented voices in maternal health scholarship. My editorial leadership supports the publication of rigorous, inclusive science that shapes global maternal health outcomes and informs interdisciplinary practice.My work weaves together maternal health advocacy and digital health innovation.
