ABOUT ASIT SRIVVASTAVA

There are two things that I am passionate about: 1. Journalism 2. DevelopmentI have over 18 years of experience in the journalism and development sector put together. My role as a correspondent, first with a national newspaper (Indian Express) and then with one of the largest news agencies in India (IANS-Indo Asian News Service), offered me immense opportunities.I interacted with people from different walks of life and then wrote detailed accounts that attempted to explore every angle of a particular subject. A number of my features on rural life, environment, health, and other development issues were picked by the international media. During my stint with an NGO, I was extensively engaged in the documentation of `Stories of Change’, particularly focusing on rural livelihoods, and women and youth empowerment.In 2019, I decided to bid adieu to a full-time career and founded The Good Sight - Webzine & Podcast. TGS is a young and dynamic media platform that showcases innovative development initiatives from geographies in India and beyond.
