Working in India Power Corporation Limited (IPCL)(formerly known as DPSC Limited)- a 105 years experienced integrated power utility is a distribution licensee in the State of West Bengal for supply of electricity in Asansol-Ranigunj belt of the State since 1919. The licensed area of IPCL stretches over 798 Sq. Km in the Asansol-Ranigunj belt. We have been maintaining one of lowest T&D losses of below 3% and highest supply reliability of 99.9% while supplying electricity to thousands of consumers including critical users such as hospitals, railways and public utilities. At present India Power is the only private Discom in India which is competing with two Government Discoms under parallel lisence for power distribution. We are competing with State Discom WBSEDCL & DVC (Damodar Valley corporation). My responsibilities are 1) O&M in Parallel Licence of power distribution & Managing Dispute.2) Preventive/Breakdown maintenance of OH & UG line (0.415 kV to 33 kV) including Substation equipments, Power X-Mer and Distribution X-Mer3) Act as single point of communication to all HT consumers for service related query.4) Also involved in network engineering & planning for development of existing feeders and new feeders.5) Looking after No Power Complaints in my zone, Closing of complaints and customer message feeding.6) Also handling disconnection of supply due to non-Payments of energy bills.7) Drive recovery of outstanding bills in my DA.8) Management of contractual staff of both HT & LT Teams9) Looking after metering of each consumer and entry in SAP of each billing cycle.10) Looking after Meter Management (Smart meter-Capital Make)- their replacement, Recharge issues complaints, Balance transfer.11) Approval of GTP and giving technical clearance to Procurement team.12) Introduction of New Materials like Wedge Connectors and Discharge cum DO rod to my organization.13) Preparation of CAPEX & OPEX Budgets.
